Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Awestruck Innovations LLC for the OpenGems sites, APIs, and MCP servers. They are effective 16 October 2026. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

OpenGems publishes citeable statistics and housing snapshots for people and for software agents. Public responses are free to read. Many responses are recorded fixtures or an offline freeze. Those responses say live: false. They are not a live feed from a government agency, and OpenGems is not a government agency.

Federal source material is generally public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105. Attribution is required and does not imply endorsement. The license page controls citation. The privacy page describes what the sites store.

Acceptable use

You may call the public APIs and read the sites within the published rate limits. Honor HTTP 429 and the Retry-After header. Do not submit passwords, live API keys, or other secrets in forms or tool arguments. Do not present a fixture as a live agency figure. Do not use the service to break the law, to probe other people’s keys, or to overload the hosts.

An unknown og_ key is rejected. A key we issue may be revoked. Do not share a key. The free fixture tier has no uptime promise.

Payments

No paid seat is on sale. Stripe test Checkout on the pricing page saves a test payment method in Stripe’s test mode. It does not charge a card, and it is not a purchase. A future paid offer will state the price at the time of sale and will still be covered by these terms. Until that offer exists, nothing on the site is an invoice.

No professional advice

Figures are for citation and research. They are not investment, legal, appraisal, lending, or housing-counseling advice. You are responsible for decisions you make from them. A workbook freeze and a demo fixture can differ. Each response names its own family and vintage. Use that label.

Our materials

OpenGems names, site design, and original writing belong to Awestruck Innovations LLC. You may embed a public chart if you keep the backlink. You may not imply that a government agency operates OpenGems.

As-is

The service is provided as-is. We do not warrant that a fixture matches a later official release, that a host will be up, or that a number is fit for a particular decision. To the extent the law allows, Awestruck Innovations LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and any liability for a free user is limited to zero. If you later pay for a seat, liability for that seat is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the three months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version. Questions and notices go to contact@awestruckinnovations.com.
